Training in the Philippines
Between 27th March - 2nd April 2008 I had the great privilege to train privately
with Instructor Bobby Dela Rosa in the beautiful city Taal , Batangas province - Philippines.
Gathering over 20 years of experience in different styles, Bobby is an outstanding trainer,
a humble and generous man and a great friend.
The intensive training ( 6 hours / day under a killing heat ) was centered on the KALYE TODO Style -
an explosive short-range stickfighting system derived from the Balintawak style - but also
included elements of Balisong ( butterfly knife ) and Dulo-Dulo ( palm stick ).

At the end of October 2008 I continued the learning of the KALYE TODO Stickfighting System
in Taal - Batangas with the advanced aspects of the style:
advanced hand drills, variations in hitting, trapping and disarmingand the first stages of sparring.
